GPOY - in my latest interview for Huffington Post - Gay Voices, I spoke with Timothy Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church.. the God Hates Fags People… I’ve spoken with them and about them many times. This interview was really kind of an incredible conversation. I spent about an hour mentally preparing myself for their screaming shtick.. then spent over an hour on the phone with Phelps. I have to admit.. I laughed several times.. and so did he. Read the story for yourself HERE

emily blunt arrives in palm springs for the film festival

i’ve mentioned before that i spent my first 14 years in LA County foster homes. this week i’ll be hosting a fundraiser for a local foster care organization that is one of the first in the country to provide programming for LGBTQ foster youth. (here in riverside county, 20% of the foster youth self-identify as LGBT which is how many of them have found themselves in foster homes)

we’ll be showcasing the candid photographs, publicity and editorial images from the classic hollywood era from marilyn monroe and arthur miller on their wedding day (monroe spent her first 15 years in foster care), as well as pictures by terry hastings of bebe zahara benet in the styling of hollywood starlets, and charcoal drawings by eric nash documenting the drive between palm springs and hollywood. eric’s work is in the collections of ellen degeneres, jerry bruckheimer and mena suvari among others. a portion of the proceeds will be going to CASA of Riverside County. more info available HERE or check the Facebook invite
