I just discovered that people who aren’t my friends can send me messages on Facebook.. but it puts it in a folder marked “Other”… I had lots of VERY funny messages from complete strangers.. some I think from people here.. and who see my stuff (or me) elsewhere on blogs, publications.. teevee.. you get the idea.. anywhoo.. most of it was very sweet and positive.. THIS was the most entertaining. for the record: I have no idea who this queen was asking me about. gurl.. lay off the sauce

LOOK WHAT I FOUND. i guess i’s got some experience at this.
for some reason it’s never occurred to me to hook up pandora boxx and carol channing… who lives out in palm springs.. i asked jimmy james to host a brunch with her and kaya jones from the pussycat dolls last month and the first thing he said was, “the REAL carol channing or some drag queen?”
i laughed, “the real carol.. you’ll love her. she’s awesome.”
i completely understood. a couple years ago i got an invite to go to something or other that chloe sevigny was hosting. i think, “oh i haven’t seen her in ages, fubar seems like kind of a weird place for her to be hanging out but then again she did a movie with no eyebrows.” i show up after dinner with friends and then look around and ask someone there, “where’s chloe?” he points at drew droege… which although i think his schtick is funny.. i was totally not in the mood for it at the moment. i had come to reconnect with an old friend… but alas, drag queen.
carol once told me she’s been mistaken for an impersonator many times before.

watching this speech makes me proud to have consulted on her early political campaign in new york state. this was a landmark speech to be quoted for years to come: “be on the right side of history”.
