i’m not freaked out by insects. around this time last year we had a tarantula problem in the house (they’d pop out of air conditioning ducts) that i totally took in stride.  thankfully, that problem is no longer a problem. however, the other night I spotted something in our screen room that gave me pause.. it certainly wasn’t a problem either and was actually quite welcome. this is a GIANT moth. it was bigger than a business card and if you want something to give it scale that thing it’s on there is a curtain rod. IT WAS FUCKING HUGE and beautiful and someone who saw it was at first freaked out it was a bat it was so large. I have to say.. from across the room i figured a bird had got in the house somehow. nonetheless.. i gently plucked it off the wall and let it outside to enjoy the evening air.
